Read the FDE Role Guide

Placement

You graduate into the role you trained for.

The role that makes you indispensable at any company in the world. Hiring for it is a network move. Almost every FDE seat that gets filled goes through somebody who already knows the work. FDE School is built as that network first and as a curriculum second. Your cohort, the alumni who go ahead of you, and the working practitioners teaching the program are the doors. Placement is what happens when those doors open in your direction.

Starts Q3 2026. Hiring partner conversations open now.

The network

Your role comes through the network. We built one.

Hiring for this role is overwhelmingly a network move. The seats get filled through somebody who already knows the work. FDE School is three networks layered on top of each other, and you sit at the center of them the day you start.

  1. Layer 01

    Your cohort.

Consultants, PMs, operators, and engineers retooling alongside you. Same week. Same build. Same career move. You learn faster because you are not doing it alone, and the peer relationships you make in six weeks compound for the next twenty years.

  2. Layer 02

    The alumni network.

The graduates who go ahead of you, placed at frontier AI labs and the companies hiring this role. They send roles back into the network before those roles hit public boards. They referral you in. They become the most valuable asset of the school as the cohorts compound. The first cohort is the seed.

  3. Layer 03

    The practitioner community.

Working FDEs at OpenAI, Anthropic, Palantir, Salesforce, Google, and ServiceNow who teach modules, sit on the capstone panel, advise on careers, and open doors inside their own teams. This is the layer that turns a strong portfolio into a warm introduction to a hiring manager.

How it operates in practice: a private hiring channel where partner companies surface FDE roles to the cohort before they hit public boards, warm introductions from faculty into hiring teams where your capstone fits the brief, and a permanent home in the alumni community after you graduate. First-cohort graduates get permanent access.

For hiring teams

Hire from a vetted pool of recently trained Forward Deployed Engineers.

If you are building an FDE function and you want first look at the talent before it hits the open market, the first cohort is the right place to start. Selective intake. Six weeks of build work, twice weekly live with working FDEs as guest faculty. A capstone graded on the same bar your senior FDEs hold.

What you get

  • Direct access to graduates before they go public on the job market.
  • Recordings of every capstone, with a one-page summary written by the candidate.
  • A seat on the capstone panel if you want to see the work live, no obligation to hire.
  • A short hiring brief format we use to surface only the candidates who fit your team.
  • A standing invitation to post FDE roles into the cohort's private hiring channel.

Who this is for

  • Frontier AI labs scaling out a Forward Deployed Engineer or Applied AI function.
  • Software companies standing up an FDE motion for the first time.
  • Consultancies and systems integrators with active AI engagements.
  • Series B-and-later startups whose first deployments are getting too complex for SE plus IM.

Train into the role. Graduate into the room.

Six weeks. Twice weekly live with working FDEs as guest faculty. The hiring side of the program is being built in parallel with the curriculum so the first cohort walks into a pipeline, not a job board.
